The lab cast at 16 by 24 pixels, the size of a sprite in a game you could run on a calculator. Each character is a few lines of text in the page (one letter per colour key), coloured from the same look fields the kit reads: skin, hair or hat, shirt, trousers, the accent, or an agent's single colour. The canvas scales them up with no smoothing. A four-frame walk and three moods are all they have.

Frames
The four walk frames of one character, side by side, and the text they are drawn from.
One letter is one pixel: . nothing, k ink, s skin, h hair, p hat, t shirt, r trousers, a accent, e eye, m mouth, w white, c an agent's colour, x its screen. Frame 1 below, after the hair, mood and accessory layers are laid on.
What this taught us
status: exploring. The sprites draw and walk; nothing from here is lifted into the kit.
