# Scan me

> Marta meets a word she does not know on page 12, and a code in the margin. 6 panels.

Status: draft · By: gen-z.journalist, 19 October 2026, from Dinis's third paper review · 6 panels

*Drawn at <https://storyboards.sgit.ai/gen-z-developers/scan-me/>; the data is [storyboard.json](storyboard.json), the cast [cast.json](../cast.json).*

*Every line the Guide says is from the agent article 'RC2 on paper, part 3', word for word, and each is Dinis's note from the printed page; the build checks it. Marta's lines are the strip's, marked not\_a\_quote.*

## 1. Scan me

*cover*

A strip about a page that needs more room.

- **Marta** (think, thinking)
- **The Guide** (wave, happy)
- **The Agent** (point, happy)

The third pacing experiment: the cut between the page and the phone, the way attention actually moves.

## 2. On the page

*scene*

- **Marta** (think, thinking) says: “What's a UI?”

Props: desk, book (printed), board (In Custom UIs are not / the exception I argued / that this is backwards ...)

Page 12: a term the reader may not know (note 69).

## 3. In the margin

*scene*

- **Marta** (shrug, worried)
- **The Guide** (point, happy) says: “most readers don't know what UI or interface is”

The Guide speaks the pen's note, word for word.

## 4. Say it first

*scene*

- **Marta** (stand, happy)
- **The Guide** (point, happy) says: “say it first, then link”

Props: desk, book (printed), board (A UI is the dashboard: / the program is the engine. / / \[QR\] /q/custom-ui)

Note 74 and the margin sketch: the concept in one line, then a code for more.

## 5. The cut

*scene*

- **Marta** (arms-up, surprised) says: “Oh. The whole article.”

Props: phone, board (Custom UIs are not the exception / the whole article, / on the book's site)

From the page to the phone and back: the code takes the reader where the page has no room.

## 6. The page says it. The code says more.

*punchline*

> **The page says it. The code says more.**

- **Marta** (arms-up, happy)
- **The Agent** (wave, happy)
- **The Guide** (wave, happy)

Paper that talks both ways: out through the codes, back through the pen.
