# Gen ZX Developers

> The GenAI Startup Edition, for Generation Z and Generation X, with one objective, a company by the end of the book: proposed on 19 October 2026 and adopted by Dinis as the frame of the second release candidate (decisions 014 and 015). 14 panels.

Status: draft · By: gen-z.journalist, 19 October 2026, from Dinis's memo proposing Gen ZX · 14 panels

*Drawn at <https://storyboards.sgit.ai/gen-z-developers/gen-zx-developers/>; the data is [storyboard.json](storyboard.json), the cast [cast.json](../cast.json).*

*Every line the Guide says, and every quote card, is from the article 'Gen ZX Developers', word for word; the build checks it. Marta, the BASIC on the board, the path and the serverless graph are the storyboard's illustrations.*

## 1. Gen ZX Developers

*cover*

The GenAI Startup Edition: the frame of rc2.

- **Marta** (wave, happy)
- **Zara** (point, happy)
- **The Agent** (wave, happy)
- **The Guide** (stand, happy)

Proposed as the first change set for the board, and adopted by Dinis as the frame of rc2 (decision 015): the founder as the reader, two generations, one objective.

## 2. Who is it for?

*scene*

- **Priya** (shrug, thinking) says: “Is this book just for Gen Z?”
- **The Guide** (point, happy) says: “Two generations, not one: Generation Z and Generation X.”

Priya is 38, a millennial: in the middle. She can read it; it is written first for the two generations either side of her.

## 3. The generations, by Pew's dates

*spectrum*

- **The Guide** (point, happy)

Gen X (1965 to 1980: the experts) → Millennials (1981 to 1996: the middle) → Gen Z (1997 to 2012: the new entrants) → Gen Alpha (2013 on: next)

Boundaries differ between sources; the book will say which it uses.

## 4. The expert, and her daughter

*scene*

- **Marta** (think, determined) says: “I've been explaining this problem for twenty years. Can I just build it now?”
- **Zara** (point, happy) says: “Yes. I'll show you the agent.”

Marta (proposed for the cast): Generation X, twenty-five years a pharmacist, Zara's mother. Execution just got cheap; what she knows did not.

## 5. The plot twist

*scene*

- **The Guide** (point, happy) says: “If we are talking about Generation Z and Generation X, we actually have Generation ZX.”
- **Marta** (arms-up, surprised)

Props: board (ZX Spectrum, April 1982 / 10 PRINT "HELLO" / 20 GOTO 10)

Dinis's origins; and Gen ZX, not Gen XZ (XZ is the library backdoored in 2024).

## 6. Explorer coding, not vibe coding

*evidence*

- **Zara** (point, determined)

> “What people call vibe coding is exploration, and the word should say so.”
>
> Source: Explorer coding (newsroom)

The chapter that should replace vibe coding, and explain the move.

## 7. From a problem to a company

*graph*

Graph: twenty years inside a problem, the explorer build, the brief, ship it, do they miss it?, price it, sell, a company, try again

Ship, give it away, take it away; if they do not miss it, try again. Profitable before raising.

*Source: Gen ZX Developers, The objective; The question is whether they miss it (newsroom)*

## 8. The objective

*scene*

- **Zara** (think, thinking)
- **Marta** (stand, determined)
- **The Guide** (point, happy) says: “Our job is to empower the reader to create a startup by the end of the book.”

A book with an objective: the one you give somebody who wants to start a GenAI company.

*Source: Gen ZX Developers, The objective: start a company*

## 9. Ship now

*evidence*

- **Marta** (point, determined)

> “Not to plan, not to pitch, not to architect. Ship.”
>
> Source: The question is whether they miss it (newsroom)

It is painful; ship anyway.

## 10. Ship serverless

*graph*

Graph: the user's browser: the logic, static hosting, an sgit vault: ciphertext only, a payment link, a model, the user's own key, RiskMandate: a policy beside the agent

No servers of mine with logic in them; nothing to run at three in the morning, nothing to pay for when nobody uses it. SG/Send and sgit for privacy; RiskMandate for control.

*Source: Gen ZX Developers, Ship serverless*

## 11. The test

*evidence*

- **Tomás** (think, thinking)

> “If it bills you by the hour when nobody is using it, it is not serverless.”
>
> Source: Ephemeral town planner services (newsroom)

A founder's cost of doing nothing should be zero.

*Source: Gen ZX Developers, Ship serverless*

## 12. Start the company, for real

*spectrum*

- **Marta** (point, determined)

The company (UK, Portugal, Lithuania, EU) → The cloud (credits and programmes) → The price (then give it away) → Customers (the first ten) → Tell us (the community)

The new part, Start the company. The company, the first customers and the community need new articles first; the credits are dated, in the hands-on part.

## 13. The measure

*scene, setting: night*

- **Marta** (stand, happy)
- **Zara** (arms-up, happy) says: “We shipped!”
- **The Guide** (stand, happy) says: “we measure the success of this book by how many companies have been created from it”

Ask readers to tell us what they are doing, and build a community around it.

*Source: Gen ZX Developers, Measured by the companies it creates*

## 14. Gen ZX Developers: start the company.

*punchline*

> **Gen ZX Developers: start the company.**

- **Marta** (arms-up, happy)
- **Zara** (arms-up, happy)
- **Tomás** (stand, happy)
- **The Agent** (wave, happy)

Proposed here; Dinis decided after the board's hearing: the title is Generation ZX Developers (GenAI Startup Edition), decision 014, and the proposal is the frame of rc2, decision 015.
